A Year in Review, 2011
With the 2011 year quickly coming to an end, we would like to share a few key events that our practice took part in throughout 2011.
Medical Mission with FIMHR in the Philippines February-March 2011
This year Dr. Chahin was asked to travel to the Philippines on a medical mission to work with the organization FIMHR (Foundation for International Mental Health and Rehabilitation www.fimhr.org). Alongside a team of other doctors and medical staff, Dr. Chahin performed surgeries to help aid individuals who would otherwise be unable to obtain such procedures. He addressed the plastic surgery Fellows and General Surgery resident students with lectures on Breast Reconstruction after Cancer surgical treatment of “mastectomy”, and General Plastic Surgery Procedures and Techniques.
Relay For Life, Santa Clarita, May 2011
This year the practice took part in RELAY FOR LIFE, an annual event held in Santa Clarita to help raise money and bring awareness to different types of cancer. We hosted a booth to help raise money for Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Awareness.

We provided informational packets about detecting cancer early and spoke with survivors about options for breast cancer reconstruction. Overall it was an amazing experience. The practice raised nearly $1000, and we hope to surpass that mark next year. This event touched the lives of not only our team members, but the community as a whole and we were honored to take part in such an amazing event.
